This Pulitzer nominated play by Terrence McNally is a seductive comedy about two suburban women who travel to India and discover the unexpected. It follows the rousing adventures of 'prim' Margaret Civil and 'outspoken' Katharine Brynne, who abandon their annual vacation ritual and purchase a holiday package to India.
Hosted by the perfect tour guide Ganesha, God of wisdom, prudence, acceptance and love, the women are led on an intoxicating and revealing pilgrimage.
Both women have secret dreams of what the fabled land of exotic dreams and intoxicating opposites will do for the suffering they hide within. Faced with the women’s despair, who but the golden Hindi elephant god Ganesha could intervene?
Terrence McNally is one of America's most prolific, gifted and adventurous playwrights. Perfect Ganesh was nominated for a Pulitzer prize in 1994
